Kirby Morgan® introduces a newly designed communication module, new strip assembly and strip retainer plate. There will be no new part number issued for the communications assembly. The current assembly will be referenced as the new design while the previous versions will be referenced as the old design.
The old design will continue to be supported and available until stock is depleted. Your existing male waterproof connector or two wire posts will work with the newly designed parts. The newly designed communication assembly will be a direct replacement of the older style, but will not be available until the old stock is gone.
The new communications body has thicker module walls, adding to the strength of the module, and a removable strip assembly. This removable strip assembly allows all wire terminals to be inspected and serviced out and away from the inside of the communications assembly.
The strip assembly can be separated from the module body, but is not required to be detached for removing or installing the microphone or earphone terminals.
