ALL KIRBY MORGAN® HELMETS & BAND MASKS® WILL NOW USE THE SAME EARPHONES AND MICROPHONE.
Kirby Morgan® has changed the “early design” helmets and Band Masks® (listed above) over to the same mics and earphones used in our most current helmets.
For example, the SuperLite® 17B helmet will soon begin shipping with the 515-029 mic, 515-018 Right Earphone & 515-019 Left Earphone – the same as those used in the current 27, 37, 37SS, 47, 97 etc.
Standardization is made easy because the two types of mic & earphones are nearly identical, the only difference being that the most current design has shrink tubing on the terminal end of the wire that can help protect against shorting out. Wire lengths have always matched.

IMPORTANT NOTES:
It is okay to use your inventory of 515-030, 515-009, 515-005 and 515-006 until gone. In the future, if a Helmet / Mask undergoing inspection still has the earlier 515-005, -006, -009 (earphones & mic) these are OKAY provided they are in good physical & functioning condition.
525-317 17A/B Helmet Spares Kit will now contain the 515-033 Comm Set instead of the 515-030.
525-325 17A/B Overseas Spare Kit will now contain the 515-033 Comm Set instead of the 515-030.
525-323 17C Overseas Spare Kit will now contain the 515-033 Comm Set instead of the 515-030.
525-327 17C Helmet Spares Kit will now contain the 515-033 Comm Set instead of the 515-030.
EXO-BR® Full Face Mask communications are not affected.
The Communication Assemblies/Modules are not affected (e.g. 515-024, 515-023).
