530-145 lock nuts have been shipping along with spare BandMask® hoods since January 2004. Reference bulletin, Change to Product #1 of 2004. These locknuts are no longer included. Explanation below.
The primary example of the “spare BandMask® Hood” most of you are familiar with is the 525-740.
P/N 510-712 is the standard hood you have been receiving when ordering P/N 525-740, and the hood that is the standard on all production BandMasks®.
This lock nut was used only in the very first, original model Hood & Keeper Kit (ref. Bulletin #4 of 2003). The original model Band Keepers became obsolete March 2004, no longer requiring the 530-145 lock nut. A much easier & efficient band keeper kit was introduced late April 2004 (ref. an “All Dealer Faxed Notice May 11, 2004). Locknuts were shipping with hoods as an assurance that anyone still using the original keepers receive a new lock nut (an extra was also included) for the bottom band keeper when changing the hood. The 530-145 nut is a one-time use only lock nut.
If some customers do still happen to be using the original band keepers, they may purchase replacement lock nuts.
No other part number changes. No price changes at this time.
